I always forget to post here...

This is from a session I did while helping a friend, Jesse Butler. These photos where edited with my preset that will be released soon Pups Unlimited. It’s my favorite from the set. I’m super happy with the way these photos came out and that mostly goes to Jesse Butler for setting up lighting and coming up with the shot.

Louisiana College Student Life

I was hired by Todd Fingleton to help shoot and edit this video for Louisiana College. Originally this was suppose to be a Homecoming highlight video, but was changed and they asked me to add in additional footage they had lying around. It did add in additional editing time, but I had no problem delivering a video the really wants. My goal is to always get the client what want and in a timely fashion. The intro and outro where done by Jurassic Skatepark who did an amazing job.

Adding to my Portrait Portfolio

If you’ve been following me, you’ve probably been noticing that I’ve been posting a lot more portrait photos than my normal real estate stuff. I’m really making the push towards being viewed as primarily a portrait photographer than a real estate one. Real estate photography is fun and I love making photos of beautiful houses, but portraits have really been something I wanted to push myself to become better at. I also want to get more portrait jobs, so I knew I had to show people that I can take portraits! Everyone says “find your niche and stick with it.” As much as I agree with “finding the thing you’re good at and stick to it,” I don’t only want to shoot houses. I want to photograph people having a good time and really make photos that have more of a memory to them. Real estate is fun, but the photos don’t last long cause once the house sells, then that’s it. The photos have done their job. I want to create photos that people will want to hold on to because of the memory and love I try to capture within them. Also, I don’t want to be a “one-trick pony.”

Don't Fret Messing Up

These are photos from a recent family portrait session. Obviously this was a quicker session than some of the others I’ve posted on here since there aren’t as many photos or variations, but the client loved them and was super happy. That’s my main goal with any photo I make, create something that makes people happy. The reason I named this “Don’t Fret Messing Up” is because I was a little nervous (I’m constantly nervous) and did not check pretty much any of my settings. HUGE mistake!!! I shoot on a Nikon Z6, so looking through the view finder I saw they exposure was looking fine, but noticed I had to drop my shutter speed and bring up the ISO. I forgot to check my aperture. I like to shoot wide open for portraits, i.e 1.8 on my S lens for Nikon. Well, after I got a bunch of shots I noticed it was set to f4. Now, that might not seem like a big deal, but that was a huge deal when I’m trying to blur the background and bring a lot of focus to the subject. Luckily, even at f4, the subjects of the photos turned out super sharp (who would have guessed) and still had enough separation from the background. Most importantly, their mom loved the photos even though I thought I ruined our session. So, moral of the story is, don’t fret and just keep shooting. Most of the time you’ll probably notice something wrong and will start adjusting what you’re doing and/or realize the mix up and fix it. Photos still came out great and everyone was happy.

Portrait Sessions with Old Friends

This is a portrait session I did for some friends from high school. It was a surprise for her by her husband and we all had a great time. We relaxed and just walked around while I snapped photos. I wanted them to just be natural and have a good time. I think we accomplished that.

AEX Board Member Headshot and Group Photo

These are some headshots I did for Alexandria England Airpark. This was a simple 1 light set up with a reflector to the right of the frame. The backdrop was just a wall in the board meeting room that we thought was a good look. Heeadshots don’t have to be complicated in my opinion. I think you need to cast a little shadow on one side of the face to create some dynamics and an interesting photo. Otherwise, everything can look washed out and uninteresting. I did raise the shadows a little in these, but you can see they are still there giving shape to the individuals face. The last group shot is a composite shot of the back wall added in after the fact, because normally they would be covering it up.

Fall Looks but with a Person!

This is my Pups Unlimited preset, but on my girlfriend Erica. I’m in love with this look! It might be because it’s currently fall, but I’m planning on adapting it to summer as well when that rolls around. Luckily for me, I have a beautiful model to work with and that shoot was tons of fun. Look for my portrait stuff in the future.
