Where I live there is a local farmer’s market, as is the case with probably most towns in the US, that’s held once a week. Local businesses come to sell their goods here, whether that is their fresh produce or their skin/hair care products. One of these businesses is a coffee shop by the name of Legal Grounds Espresso Bar, who I am the photographer for. They are out there every Tuesday to make sure all the good folks who head out to buy local produce, soaps, and other goods can also have fresh coffee while doing so. A very important job if you ask me.
Giving the people what they need.
As being the photographer for a business, I feel it’s always good to get shots of the business in action. Luckily for them, they have a mobile cart that they can bring around to different places to supply coffee with ease. I enjoy this because it means I get a chance to get out and get shots of other things while I’m also getting them some action shots. Giving your customer extra is a very important aspect of any business in my opinion. The shots I get of them at these markets are purely extra. No charge, no worries. Every customer deserves extra and it solidifies a good relationship. If you have a business, try giving at one extra thing, whatever that might be, to a customer. I bet you they will come back for more and/or tell a friend about how they got a good deal with you.
A little extra time goes a long way.
These mushrooms where huge!
While I’m out getting bonus pictures for my customer, I also have the opportunity to talk with other potential customers about what I can possibly do for them. I talked to two people and got to take some quick shots for them. I gave these pictures freely to them with no expectation of a return. They can use the photos how they choose. I want to come to the table with something to give first before I ever ask what can I have. Most of the time, I’m not going to ask for anything in return. I would just like for the person or business to enjoy the photo and use it if they can.
