If you’ve been following me, you’ve probably been noticing that I’ve been posting a lot more portrait photos than my normal real estate stuff. I’m really making the push towards being viewed as primarily a portrait photographer than a real estate one. Real estate photography is fun and I love making photos of beautiful houses, but portraits have really been something I wanted to push myself to become better at. I also want to get more portrait jobs, so I knew I had to show people that I can take portraits! Everyone says “find your niche and stick with it.” As much as I agree with “finding the thing you’re good at and stick to it,” I don’t only want to shoot houses. I want to photograph people having a good time and really make photos that have more of a memory to them. Real estate is fun, but the photos don’t last long cause once the house sells, then that’s it. The photos have done their job. I want to create photos that people will want to hold on to because of the memory and love I try to capture within them. Also, I don’t want to be a “one-trick pony.”
